Oshiomhole’s solidarity campaign ends abruptly as participants castigate embattled Nat’l chair
Last ditch efforts by the camp of the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to curry support from leaders of the party have gone awry as participants lambasted Oshiomhole for not living up to his promise but rather employing dictatorial tendencies during his expired tenure.
The meeting, which was convened on Sunday, March 15, at a high-brow hotel in Abuja, was thrown into chaos when one of the leaders took to the rostrum to indict the embattled national chairman for ‘working to displace Dr. John Odigie-Oyegun’ but failing to live to the party’s expectations.
It was gathered that the misgivings were shared by more participants as they had stormed the event to vent their anger at Oshiomhole’s high-handedness.
Sources at the meeting said the enraged crowd was driven to the brink when they were handed their ‘thank you’ envelops, which was said to be less than what had been agreed with the mobilisers.
“Those on the high-table got N5 million but frowned on the sum as they had agreed for N10m. Others who got N200,000 for sitting at the participants side said it ought to have been N400,000,” an embittered participant said.
